Summer Event Targeting

With summer right around the corner, outdoor events, county and state fairs, concerts, and so much more will start popping up on the calendar. In addition to being a fun time of year, it can also be a great opportunity for event targeting ads!

What are Event Targeting Ads?

Event targeting is a location-based marketing tactic that serves ads to people who are at a specific location during a specific time. We then have the ability to target these users with ads for up to 30 days after the event.

When Should Event Targeting Be Used?

Event targeting is a great tactic when an advertiser wants to reach people attending a specific event. Since there is no perfect way to collect all participants at an event, it is important to choose one that has a large number of attendees. This can help us ensure that we have a large audience pool to serve ads for.

Example Scenario:

Let’s run through an example of who might be a good fit for this type of ad campaign. Let’s say we have a client who is a local waterpark for kids. They are wanting to promote their summer hours and events. They are looking to get this information in front of families with children, and their local county fair would be a great place to reach these target customers.

In this example we would create a geofence around the county fair while it is going on. We would then be able to build up an audience pool of users who attended this county fair and serve them ads for our waterpark for up to 30 days following the fair.
